Funding will be distributed to 18 community-based organizations operating 31 programs from October 2024 to September 2025.  

Starting August 15, pasta sauces will be sold at 11 Meijer Supercenter locations in the Grand Rapids area. On September 1, the brand’s three popular salsa varieties – Mild, Medium and Hot – will also hit shelves at 264 Meijer locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The enrichment area is located next to the animal shelter on Kent County's Fuller campus. It includes several activity items, including a raised platform, vertical ramp, and tire obstacle course. 

The funds bring the campaign's total to $8.7 million, or 77 percent of its $11.4 million goal.

Hendrickson succeeds Steve Van Andel, who has served on the hospital’s board for nearly 40 years, most recently as chair since 2021.
