The holidays in Downtown Holland kick off on November 15. The season includes discounts, promotions, and special family-friendly events.

On Friday, November 15, Downtown Holland will host its annual Shop ‘Til You Drop late-night savings event from 6 to 9 p.m. During the event, over 45 Downtown Holland shops offer special late-night discounts.

During the Holiday Open House on Saturday, November 23, from 5 to 8 p.m., the community is invited to stroll the beautifully decorated and brightly lit streets while shopping for all of your holiday gifts. Shops and restaurants will offer gift wrapping, holiday refreshments, merchandise discounts, and giveaways. The event will feature appearances by Santa Claus, a reindeer petting corral, strolling carolers, and chestnut roasting. The Holiday Open House is sponsored by Greenridge Realty of Holland.

On Saturday, November 30, Downtown Holland will celebrate Small Business Saturday. Shops and restaurants will offer giveaways, discounts, and promotions.

On Tuesday, December 3, at 6:30 p.m., Santa Claus arrives in Downtown Holland during the Parade of Lights, escorted by over 80 floats, commercial vehicles, walkers, and marching bands. The Parade of Lights begins at the corner of 8th Street and Columbia Avenue and proceeds west down 8th Street until it reaches the Holland Civic Center Place, 150 West 8th Street, home of the Holiday Kerstmarkt. The Parade of Lights is sponsored by Gentex Corporation.

As part of the Shopping Jam on Saturday, December 14, participating businesses will open their doors early, offering savings of 30 percent off at least one item from 8 to 9 a.m., 25 percent from 9 to 10 a.m., and 20 percent off from 10 to 11 a.m.
