Breast cancer survivor turns personal journey into nonprofit mission

What began as Jen VanEe’s personal blog documenting her breast cancer journey has grown into a nonprofit aimed at easing the burdens cancer places on patients and their families. VanEe, owner of Wright Touch Marketing & Consulting, announced that One Tough Titty officially received a 501(c)3 designation.

“I’ve learned through my own fight and by meeting countless brave women, that cancer doesn’t just affect your body; it drains your finances, emotions, self-esteem, and mental well-being,” said VanEe. “In a time when breast cancer is on the rise among younger women, my mission is to create a supportive community in West Michigan where every woman can access the help she needs to fight back.”

VanEe is launching a fundraiser through her nonprofit for a woman she met during her cancer journey, who is now facing cancer for a second time.

“I refuse to let her fight it alone,” said VanEe. “I know how heavy that weight is, and if we can lift even a little of that load for her, then we’re doing something truly meaningful. So, get ready, because we’re about to show up for her in a big way.”

VanEe received her final immunotherapy treatment on February 5 and is now in survivorship.

“This past year has been a marathon, a war, a dumpster fire, and oddly enough, a gift,” said VanEe. “As I step into whatever comes next, I know this much: cancer took a lot from me, but it gave me an even greater purpose.”

The second annual Fore the Fight: One Tough Titty Golf Outing is planned for June 20. Learn more at https://www.onetoughtitty.org/.
