Grand Rapids-based full-service CPA firm EHTC has hired Joanna (Jo) Gould, CPA, as a director in its tax department. In this role, Gould will focus on growing the depth of services the firm offers its private clients, such as wealth transfer planning, estate and gift tax planning, business succession planning, and advising. Her goal is to ensure clients receive exceptional client service by leveraging the expertise of EHTC’s team and the firm’s resources.

“Jo will be instrumental in growing the firm through private client service offerings in the Tax Department, as well as complement our Advisory Department,” said Heather Kelbel, CPA, tax services partner, EHTC. “She will be a valuable team member and key to developing our team’s technical capabilities. We are extremely excited to welcome Jo to EHTC and can’t wait to support her with servicing many closely held West Michigan businesses.”

Gould has over nine years of experience in public accounting, with most of her career spent at a “Big Four” accounting firm in Grand Rapids. She specializes in tax compliance and planning for closely held businesses and their stakeholders, family offices, and high net-worth individuals.

“I am excited to join a team that is not only technically excellent but also shares my values and has a strong presence in the West Michigan community,” said Gould. “I love working with private entrepreneurs and their businesses. It is so rewarding to build relationships and be able to support their hard work and success through effective tax planning.”

Gould earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and her Master of Science in Accounting from Grand Valley State University. She is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
