Emmy Award-winning health journalist Val Lego is bringing her expertise and storytelling skills to a new platform with the launch of "The 'Pause" podcast. Designed for women navigating perimenopause and menopause, "The 'Pause" offers expert insights, real-life stories, and practical strategies for thriving during this stage of life.

Val is joined by her friend and Certified Menopause Provider Nisha Goei-McKenzie, CEO & Founder at Women's + Health Collective in Grand Rapids. Together, they tackle topics like Hormone Replacement Therapy and the flawed research that connects it to the increased risk of breast cancer, the fact that hot flashes and perimenopause can begin at 37, and how to know the signs.

"Menopause isn't a one-size-fits-all experience, and yet, for years, it's been treated like one," Lego said. "This podcast is about breaking the silence, sharing real solutions, and giving women a voice in their own health journey."

With nearly 25 years of experience as a health and lifestyle reporter, Val brings credibility, curiosity, and humor to "The 'Pause," turning her focus to one of the most overlooked conversations in women's health.

"Women deserve clear, evidence-based information about their bodies, but they also need to know they're not alone," Lego said. "That's why I started 'The 'Pause,' to provide both expert knowledge and a supportive community."

Alongside the podcast, Val has created The Pause Diaries, a dedicated Facebook group where women can connect, share experiences, and support one another in a judgment-free space.

"The 'Pause" podcast is available on Buzzsprout , Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music. For more information about the Facebook group, visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepausediaries.
