New book tackles communication breakdown
Owners of West Michigan consulting firm Know Honesty Ken Bogard and Grace Gavin have spent years researching, refining, and modeling effective communication practices. Their new book, “Know Honesty,” offers actionable insights to help individuals and businesses foster open, authentic dialogue that drives meaningful relationships and success.
“Poor communication is hurting our relationships, our businesses, and our society. The price tag in terms of lost productivity costs businesses billions of dollars every year,” said Gavin.
According to Gavin, communication issues are the primary source of workplace tension, stress, and problems.
“In a globally connected world, we’re experiencing more disconnectedness than ever before. What if we could eliminate this divide and become masterful communicators, knowing how to connect with anyone,” asked Gavin.
At the heart of the book are the Six Practices™, proven methods designed to empower readers to connect, lead, and live more intentionally.
“We need leaders who are committed to building cultures of honesty and openness across our business community,” said Gavin. “That’s how we’ll thrive—together.”
“Know Honesty” will be available for purchase on October 18. Locally, copies can be purchased at Schuler’s Books, Orchard House, and Plumfield Books.
