Opera Grand Rapids has appointed Varnum attorney Justin Allen to its Board of Trustees. Founded in 1967, Opera Grand Rapids is the longest-running professional opera company in Michigan. Productions are produced and presented locally, engaging some of the world’s most talented artists, stage directors, conductors and choreographers.

“We are delighted to have Justin Allen join the board of Opera Grand Rapids. He brings to the board legal experience and a love of the arts in West Michigan while representing our company’s second largest group of patrons – those under 40,” said Win Irwin, President of the Board of Trustees, Opera Grand Rapids.

Allen is a member of Varnum’s Litigation and ADR Practice Team, focusing on probate litigation and representing clients in hearings, depositions, trial and appellate proceedings. He addresses will contests, trust disputes, guardianship and conservatorship challenges, and petitions for mental health treatment, while also handling complex commercial litigation across various fields.

Throughout his career, Allen has handled cases involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), proxy contests, environmental enforcement actions, contractual disputes and non-competition/non-solicitation agreements.

Allen also serves on the board of the Legal Assistance Center and Heart of West Michigan United Way.
