City launches podcast to connect with residents and businesses
The City of Walker has debuted the “Made in Walker” video and audio podcast series. The new platform is part of the City’s ongoing effort to engage with residents and business owners. It provides an accessible and convenient way to stay informed about city news, events, and initiatives.
The podcasts will occur biweekly and include interviews with decision-makers, updates on local projects, and spotlights on community stories. New episodes will be released on the first and third Mondays of every month. The podcasts are available on Apple podcasts and most other major podcast platforms.
“As one of the first cities to implement live streaming of our commission meetings, we aimed for transparency with our community,” said Mayor Gary Carey, Jr. “We also embraced social media early on. However, with social media continuing to mature and, at times, lose its effectiveness in sharing accurate, positive, and relevant news, podcasts are an additional way to connect all of us with the people, the stories, and the ideas shaping our community.”
