Grace's Table, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support, resources, and advocacy for teen moms, will host its annual Diaper Day on June 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at the nonprofit's new location, 909 Watson Street SW in Grand Rapids. Diaper Day provides diapers and wipes to young parents aged 13-24 who are pregnant or parenting.

Diaper Day addresses a critical gap in assistance programs, as essential items like diapers and wipes are not covered by WIC or SNAP benefits. On average, it costs $75 a month to keep a child in clean diapers, and a child will go through approximately 2,500 diapers in their first year of life.

"Diapers are a significant expense for low-income families. Without assistance, parents may have to choose between diapers and other essential needs, like food or rent. This can cause significant stress and financial strain," said Lisa Anderson, Executive Director, Grace's Table.

In addition to free diapers and wipes, Diaper Day will feature BBQ and yard games. Valid identification is required for participation.
