Ice cream and sandwich shop to open at former auto garage

A local building is getting a sweet new lease on life. After more than 50 years of service, Parker & Sons Garage has officially closed its doors as the owners step into retirement. A local business owner has acquired the building at 5600 Wilson Ave SW in Wyoming and plans to transform it into a retro auto-themed ice cream and sandwich shop.

Before renovations begin, the garage’s complete assets will be sold in an online auction hosted by Orbitbid.com.

The online auction will feature a wide array of tools, equipment, and collectibles, including hundreds of Snap-on tools, four-post drive-on car hoist, collectible car and motorcycle parts and engines, garage memorabilia, as well as welders, air compressors, lawn equipment, and more.

Bidding opens at 8 a.m. on December 9 and begins closing at 6 p.m. on December 10. Early inspection is available by appointment.
