Paws With a Cause (PAWS) has welcomed three new members to its board of directors. All three members have been long-time PAWS volunteers, including Babette Burleigh, former Senior Director, Chief of Staff Manufacturing Division, Pfizer; Gina Schremser, former Senior Vice President, Group Account Director, Jack Morton Worldwide; and Kevin Hurn, Director of Pharmacy Purchasing and Trade Relations, Meijer Pharmacy.

“We’re excited to bring on new faces and new areas of expertise to our board,” said Michele Suchovsky, Chief Executive Officer, Paws With a Cause. “Their unique backgrounds and perspectives will be valuable to the continuing success of our mission.”

The PAWS governing board is comprised of 19 statewide business leaders and community members. As members of the board, each of these individuals will serve a three-year term and can serve a maximum of two terms. Their role will be to provide direction and support the organization’s mission to enhance the independence and quality of life for people with disabilities through custom-trained assistance dogs.

“I like to think I’m ‘rewiring’ vs retiring,” said Schremser. “This phase of life gives me a chance to pursue my passions and offer my time to organizations like PAWS that do so much for our communities. I’m looking forward to learning from their talented staff as well as giving back.”
