Vandalia Health is headquartered in Charleston, WV, with locations in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Vandalia Health has 1,530 beds in its system, more than 13,000 employees, 17 hospitals, and over 190 locations. The new partnership with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is located at Vandalia Health CAMC General Hospital in downtown Charleston, WV, and with its inpatient rehabilitation program. A joint operating agreement between the two organizations begins January 1, 2025.

Currently, Vandalia Health has a 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit located at CAMC General Hospital. As part of the partnership, the two organizations will work together to build a new 50-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Vandalia Health CAMC General Hospital campus.

The Mary Free Bed leadership team will manage the day-to-day operations, performance, processes and procedures, and work closely with Vandalia and CAMC leadership.

"In health care, alignment of mission and values is essential for successful partnerships," said Bruce Brasser, Chief Operating Officer, Mary Free Bed. "This collaboration represents a shared vision of expanding access to world-class rehabilitation care for those who need it most.”
