A nonprofit that helps underrepresented contractors thrive in the construction industry will host an event that helps create meaningful partnerships between buyers and underrepresented construction companies. The Construction Allies in Action Contractor Capabilities Exchange Event (C2E2) will take place on June 26 at 6 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Community College Leslie E. Tassell M-TEC, 622 Godfrey Ave SW.

The event will feature a unique speed-dating-style format, enabling one-on-one meetings between construction company owners and top industry vendors. This format is designed to maximize engagement, allowing each participant to present their capabilities and explore potential collaborative projects.

"C2E2 serves as a crucial platform for buyers and diverse contractors to come together and create personal connections. This interaction not only promotes greater understanding but also ensures that our DEI efforts translate into real economic opportunities for these businesses. By fostering these direct exchanges, we help ensure that underrepresented contractors are not only visible but actively engaged in Michigan's construction projects," said Elizabeth Bovard Strong, Founder and President, Construction Allies in Action.

Construction Allies in Action advocates for generational change in the construction industry by challenging project owners to write diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices into their governance and supporting tangible opportunities like the C2E2 that help turn these policies into action.
