The Amway Grand Plaza is launching new immersive series of programming for foodies and wine enthusiasts. All three events will take place at Amway Grand Plaza restaurants: Lumber Baron Bar, MDRD, and The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck.

The three-event series kicks off on April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Corked & Cloaked: A Blind Tasting Experience at Lumber Baron Bar. Attendees can test their wine knowledge and participate in a blind tasting at the cozy, mahogany-lined Lumber Baron Bar. Four wines will be paired with expertly crafted bites.

“Our team of talented chefs and wine experts curated each experience to be both educational and entertaining, giving guests a chance to expand their wine knowledge while enjoying world-class cuisine in downtown Grand Rapids,” said Ryan Schmied, Regional Director of Food & Beverage, AHC Hospitality.

On April 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., you can learn how to blend your very own Malbec with Ann Marie Sgroi, Catena Fine Wine Specialist. Master the Art of Wine Blending with Catena Zapata will take place at the Amway Grand Plaza’s contemporary rooftop Spanish restaurant, MDRD. The wines will be paired with a curated selection of signature tapas, cured meats, and cheeses.

Finally, on April 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck will host Austria Unveiled: Beyond Grüner, an exclusive wine dinner to explore the depth of Austrian wine making. The restaurant’s in-house wine experts will guide curious wine aficionados through a chef-curated multi-course menu of authentic Austrian cuisine paired with rare Austrian varietals, creating a chance for foodies to dive into a lesser-known culinary and wine heritage.

Tickets for each event are available individually via Eventbrite.
