The Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) recently elected seven members to its board of trustees. Luis Avila, partner at Varnum LLP, rejoins the museum board alongside new trustees: Patricia Griswold, a community volunteer; Dr. Leadriane Roby, superintendent of Grand Rapids Public Schools; Josh Sayles, assurance senior manager at Ernst & Young; and Jeff Smith, a community volunteer. Additionally, Michael Curtis, president and banker at J.P. Morgan, and David Hall, partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, have joined the GRAM Foundation Board of Trustees.

Alongside these appointments, GRAM welcomes new officers to its museum board of trustees. Jeff Smith has been named president, having previously served on the foundation board. Josh Sayles and Alex Thibodeau, attorney at Warner Norcross + Judd, will serve as co-secretaries/treasurers. Each board officer will serve a two-year term.

“We are thrilled to welcome seven new exceptional individuals to the Grand Rapids Art Museum’s board of trustees,” said Cindy Foley, Director and CEO, GRAM. “Each person brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and dedication to the Museum and will undoubtedly strengthen GRAM’s mission and impact on our community.”

The GRAM is internationally known for its distinguished design and status as the world’s first LEED® Gold certified art museum. Founded in 1910 as the Grand Rapids Art Association, GRAM has grown to include more than 6,500 works of art, including American and European 19th and 20th-century painting and sculpture and more than 3,000 works on paper.
