Foundation to host workshop series for small businesses and nonprofit leaders

The Cascade Community Foundation (CCF), in partnership with Mary Free Bed YMCA, Cascade Township, and additional community sponsors, has launched the Enterprise Workshop Series. The professional development series is tailored to small business owners and nonprofit leaders. The first session of the series, "Creating Video Assets," is focused on producing impactful video content and will be held on March 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mary Free Bed YMCA, located at 5500 Burton St. SE.

Designed to address the professional growth needs that are crucial yet often neglected, the CCF's Enterprise Workshop Series introduces participants to practical skills in various areas that enhance organizational operations. The series is based on Dr. David Kolb's experiential learning model, fostering physical action and peer interaction for a deeper understanding of the content.

“We are excited to provide relevant workshops to business owners and nonprofits in and around Forest Hills who are eager to keep up with rapidly evolving business resources,” said Kim Livingston, Board President, Cascade Community Foundation. “We hope those who join our workshops will walk away with the confidence they need and enough firsthand experience to enhance their operations.”

"Creative Video Assets" will be led by Chelsie Wyse, Founder of tact; and Alaina Taylor, Education Coordinator at the Grand Rapids Community Media Center.

The Enterprise Workshop Series was piloted in 2023 and has secured funding for its 2024 programming. "Creating Video Assets" is the first installment of this year's series, with a full schedule to be announced later this spring.
