Ministry celebrates 125th anniversary with donation drop-off day
Mel Trotter Ministries, the largest provider of services to people experiencing homelessness in West Michigan, will mark its 125th anniversary on Monday, February 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by holding a donation drop-off day to help men, women, and children who do not have stable housing and need everyday items.
The faith-based organization encourages everyone in the community to participate by donating essential items at 225 Commerce Avenue SW in Grand Rapids. Donors can pull up to the curb in front of the mission, and a Mel Trotter staff member or volunteer will come to your car and collect the items.
Items needed include men’s t-shirts (sizes S-3XL), underwear for men, women, and children (various sizes), individually wrapped toothbrushes for adults, antiperspirant deodorant, tennis shoes (sizes 9-14), twin sheets, and shaving cream with razors.
Additionally, an Amazon wish list is provided on the Mel Trotter Ministries website: https://www.meltrotter.org/dropoffday
