The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) has appointed Casey Jones as its President and CEO. Jones, who brings experience from his extensive career in broadcasting, joins MAB after a 14-year tenure at WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids.

"I walked out of WOOD TV for the final time and I am filled with gratitude," Jones said. "My job was so cool. It's exactly what I wanted to do and I know how special it was to do it."

Jones started his career at WOOD TV8 as a sportscaster in 2011, covering major sporting events, including Super Bowls and Stanley Cups. He was then promoted to anchor the morning show, Daybreak. In recent years, he took on the Community Affairs Director role, focusing on uplifting stories throughout West Michigan.

"My time [at WOOD TV8] was defined by big moments – Rose Bowls, National Championships, presidential debates, weather tragedy, awful humans stories, good humans stories, record food drives, being on people's corners," Jone said. "And through all of those large moments, it was the little ones that grew me. The conversations in hallways. The trust strangers put in me. The relationships built over telling someone's story. The kindness on the other end of a camera lens — it has left an indelible mark on who I am as a professional and I feel fortunate to carry that piece with me to the MAB."

The MAB is a nonprofit representing commercial radio and television broadcast stations in Michigan. The organization promotes the well-being, cooperation, and prosperity of the owners, managers, employees, and specialists engaged in the business of broadcasting by helping members better serve their community, audience, advertisers, and staff through providing solutions to their problems and satisfying their needs.
