Updated website provides easier access to health inspection reports

The Kent County Health Department has launched an enhanced online portal, designed to provide the public with easy access to inspection reports for food establishments, body art shops, and public swimming pools. The user-friendly site offers guidance on interpreting inspection results and answers to frequently asked questions.

"We are committed to providing accessible and comprehensive information to the public," said Sara Simmonds, Director, Environmental Health Division, Kent County Health Department. "This portal is a valuable resource, ensuring transparency and ease of access to important health and safety information."

The newly upgraded portal displays findings from routine and follow-up inspections, reflecting conditions observed at the time of the inspection. It is important to note that the inspection reports do not represent the overall, long-term state of the establishment.

A key feature of the portal is an interactive map, allowing users to find inspection reports for specific establishments by entering the name, address, or municipality.

"We are committed to continually evolving this portal, with plans to include access to well and septic permits, online licensing applications, and other features to streamline processes and improve public accessibility," Simmonds said.
