YMCA hosts record-breaking Thanksgiving food drive for families
The Wolverine Worldwide Family YMCA’s annual Thanksgiving food drive provided full holiday meals to 100 local families this year, up from 77 in 2023—a powerful reflection of the community’s generosity and the Belmont-based Y’s commitment to supporting those in need.
In partnership with local school districts—Rockford, Comstock Park, Northview, and Kenowa Hills—the Y identified families facing financial hardships and rallied members, staff and the Board of Directors to meet the growing need. By mid-November, donations poured in, filling the YMCA lobby with food and contributions that made this ambitious goal a reality.
“This is the largest Thanksgiving drive we’ve ever done,” said Lisa Boyd, President, Wolverine Worldwide YMCA Board of Directors. “It’s incredible to see our community come together to ensure no family goes without a Thanksgiving meal.”
The Wolverine Worldwide Family YMCA extends heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed, demonstrating the true spirit of giving and the power of community.
