Kids’ Food Basket (KFB) will host its 19th annual Gobble Wobble Fun Run and Walk on November 28, Thanksgiving morning. Community members and dogs are invited to run, walk, or wobble to the finish line, with race proceeds benefiting KFB. The Gobble Wobble Fun Run and Walk will take place at East Grand Rapids Middle School, located at 2425 Lake Drive SE in East Grand Rapids.

The festivities begin at 8 a.m. with the Widdle Wobble, a shortened, approximately .4-mile course, open to all kids 12 and under. The youth event is free of charge, only requiring a sign-up to participate. The Gobble Wobble will begin immediately after the Widdle Wobble concludes.

“This is such an energizing way to kick off a big week that starts with the biggest running day of the year and ends with the biggest fundraising day of the year,” said Tamara VanderArk-Potter, VP of Philanthropy, KFB. “Before we gather around the table, we invite everyone to gather at the starting line for a fun, impactful way to start a day all about gratitude. We hope to see runners and wobblers finish strong on Thanksgiving and welcome them to further their tremendous impact on Giving Tuesday.”

KFB currently serves 10,000 nutritious evening meals every school day to children in 60 schools throughout Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Allegan counties. The food equity organization combines this access with agriculture and education, operating two ten-acre farms that distribute fresh produce directly to the community and teaching lessons about healthy food, how it’s grown, and why it matters.
