Inspired by Amplify Austin Day, the first-ever Grand Rapids Giving Day will bring together 50 local nonprofits with the goal of raising $250,000 and inspiring 100,000 acts of kindness throughout the community. Grand Rapids Giving Day will be hosted on Giving Tuesday, December 3, at noon at the Grand Rapids Center for Community Transformation, 1530 Madison Ave. SE.

Grand Rapids Giving Day will focus on "philanthropreneurship," a movement combining business skills with social impact to create sustainable, community-driven solutions.

"This is not just a one-day event but the start of a movement to build a community of nonprofit leaders, foster collaboration, promote sustainability, and encourage philanthropreneurship in Grand Rapids," said Erika Plunkett, Grand Rapids Giving Day organizer.

The 50 participating nonprofits, each known for being innovative, grassroots, or female-founded, will be highlighted throughout the event.

In addition to fundraising, the event will encourage the entire community to participate in 100,000 acts of kindness, from volunteering to simple gestures of generosity.

Another feature of Grand Rapids Giving Day is the Social Enterprise Pitch, where local innovators will have the chance to present ideas aimed at creating social impact. Five winners will share $10,000 in prize money, further supporting the development of sustainable, socially responsible businesses in the community.
